Start is a drug and alcohol support service. It gives treatment and support to help people get well and back on their feet. No matter what advice or level of support you need, it is always free, confidential and without judgement. Anyone living in Hartlepool can use the Start service, no matter what their age, substance use or circumstances are.
The Breaking Free Online (BFO) is an online platform that supports individuals with drug and/or alcohol use.
BFO offers confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, equipping people with the insights and techniques to achieve enduring behavioural change. BFO states that the interventions not only support the addictive behaviours, but also the underlying cognitive, emotional, and physiological and lifestyle issues that cause and maintain them.
BFO is available for any resident of Hartlepool (aged 16+) who would like support for their drug and/or alcohol use. Individuals do not have to be working with drug and alcohol treatment services to access the online support.
